I have been a practicing counsellor and supervisor in London and Leeds for over 20 years. I have worked in a variety of settings including primary care, a young people’s counselling service and a in private practice.
Most recently I was the director of the Leeds Women’s Counselling and Therapy service, from 2002-2007, leaving to concentrate on developing my private counselling practice and EMDR work.
I am a qualified EMDR practitioner currently working towards accreditation.
Working in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment, I offer therapy either on an open ended basis or for an agreed number of sessions.
I was first accredited in 1994 and awarded Senior Accreditation status in 2001. This means that I have been accredited with the BACP accreditation scheme for "at least six years" and have met the criteria required to be recognised as a competent and ethical Counsellor / Psychotherapist.
Although accreditation is not a qualification in itself it is an additional undertaking which takes some years to achieve and involves a substantial level of training and experience approved by BACP.
Accreditation is a kitemark which assures you that I have significant skills and experience to help and that your selection of a counsellor is based on an informed choice rather than mere speculation.
